Jenna Fischer is best known for her character Pam Beesly on the acclaimed TV show The Office The Office, for which she won an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress and two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by the Ensemble Comedy.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna's mother Anne was a performer in dramas at church when she was younger which sparked an enthusiasm for theatre.
Fischer was a theatre actress in her own country. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons for Being Happy was written and directed Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist production starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey started the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform, which has gained immense popularity, settling in the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads over its initial two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life is her first book, which describes the path she traveled starting in St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as an actress professionally. Her second, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her most beloved friend and their experience working in The Office.
