The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local university. To follow in the footsteps of her father she graduated in chemical engineering. Because she wished to become an actress she went into New York. In her Broadway role was accompanied by work at a local establishment. The TV show "Felicity," she had an appearance in a brief scene. (It was on this show that she became acquainted with the man she married, Scott Foley. Garner had her first big role on the screen in "13 going on thirty" the romantic comedy that was well-received. Garner played a teenage girl who was trapped within the body of an adult. Garner picked Gary Winick, who directed the movie. They were able to continue to collaborate to find other projects after the death of Winick. The year 2009 was the first time Garner became an artist ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. This role entails promoting nutritional literacy, education and early learning. Garner has been a member of the board for this nonprofit organization since 2014. She promotes early childhood education. Garner has visited many families as part of Early Steps to School Success the program created to help parents understand how they can support their children's education - acting as an ambassador.
